Learn MoreMISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canada & TROY, Mich., Oct. 3, 2024 — Woodbridge has been awarded the 2024 Polyurethane Innovation Award from the Center for the Polyurethanes Industry (CPI) of the American Chemistry Council (ACC). The award-winning technology, TrimVisible™ BIO, is a more sustainable foam in which biogenic carbon replaces some petroleum-based materials in polyurethane seating foam. This innovation enables a net neutral foam in Scope 1 carbon dioxide emissions and reduces Woodbridge’s overall CO2 footprint.
Woodbridge scientists developed a proprietary process to seamlessly incorporate biogenic carbon (biocarbon) into the company's high-quality polyurethane seating foam chemistry. The outcome, TrimVisible™ BIO, is a novel product that reduces the CO2 footprint from start to finish. This innovative technology is a crucial step toward substantially decreasing the CO2 footprint over the lifespan of vehicles.
Shlomo Bibas, Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, expressed the team's delight in accepting the 2024 Polyurethane Innovation Award. He stated, "Years of planning have led to this moment, which is a well-deserved accomplishment for Woodbridge and significant industry recognition. We are excited about the potential of this technology and the magnitude of its impact."
TrimVisible BIO sets the bar high for automotive seating with its unmatched performance, exceptional comfort, and unwavering commitment to sustainability. Learn more about TrimVisible BIO here: https://www.woodbridgegroup.com/Products/TrimVisible-BIO.
