Learn MoreMISSISSAUGA, Ontario, Canada & TROY, Mich., Jan. 5, 2023 – Woodbridge today announced that Kai Jacobsen has been named President and Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately. Jacobsen will report to Woodbridge’s Board of Directors.
Jacobsen joined Woodbridge in 2017 as President, Molded Foam and became a member of the company’s Executive Leadership Team. In 2019, he was named Senior Vice President, Formed Plastics, Interior Parts and Assembly & Diversified, and in 2020, Jacobsen returned to serve as President, Molded Foam with oversight of the business unit’s Regional Leadership Team. Most recently, Jacobsen was acting Chief Operating Officer.
“Kai is a highly respected business leader who has played an instrumental role in Woodbridge’s growth across the markets we serve,” said Robert B. Magee, Chairman. “His proven ability to lead the implementation of our global business strategies, and his focus on continuously strengthening our operations and energizing our diverse workforce will be important in delivering on our organizational strategy.”
Jacobsen has 30 years of global automotive experience. During his tenure at Magna, he advanced through roles of increasing responsibility in several key businesses and functions. Jacobsen earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from the University of Applied Science in Germany.

Over the last six years at Woodbridge, I have worked alongside some of the best and most innovative talent in the industry. Jacobsen succeeds John Zianis who recently announced his decision to step down as President and Chief Executive Officer of Woodbridge to focus on his health.
