Learn MoreMississauga, ON, Canada, May 21, 2013 – The FormedPlastics™ division of The Woodbridge Group® is pleased to announce the expansion of their growing business unit, with a new particle foam facility in Chattanooga, Tennessee. FormedPlastics™ is an automotive tier 1, particle foam and polyurethane foam solutions provider, manufacturing unique cargo storage, seat frames, occupant safety and acoustical components, from materials including: EPP, PEPP, EPE, EPS, PS/PE and PU. FormedPlastics™ also manufactures protective packaging solutions.
John Zianis, Vice President FormedPlastics, The Woodbridge Group states, “Woodbridge Chattanooga Formed Plastics LP will support efforts to further develop business in the southeast U.S.A. This region has developed into an attractive market including original equipment manufacturers such as: BMW, Ford, GM, Honda, Hyundai, KIA, Mercedes, Nissan, Toyota and VW. Leading OEMs continue to look to EPP components, due to its suitability for a wide range of automotive requirements, its cost-effectiveness and its lightweight characteristics, which support the ongoing push towards greater fuel economy.”
The FormedPlastics footprint expansion is a strategic complement to the Kitchener, Canada, the DuraLite FP Leon, Mexico and the Trilport, France facilities. With EPP content growth forecast to outpace the overall market, including significant upside in seating and cargo management applications, the Tennessee operation will strengthen relationships with OEMs and Tier 1s, and better position the business unit to attract new customers.
