Learn MoreMississauga, ON, November 10, 2014 – The Woodbridge Group is pleased to announce the expansion of its automotive molded seating foam and interior parts operations in Brazil, with a new facility in Capivari, located in the state of São Paulo, an automotive production hot spot.
Currently, the Brazilian automotive industry is undergoing major changes. Woodbridge has decided to utilize this time as an opportunity to reposition our footprint in Brazil, particularly as Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) continue to build new plants in the region. Moreover, a growing concern for occupant safety and comfort, require parts that can deliver higher performance and value, offering significant opportunity for Woodbridge and its core products. Despite the recent softening of the local economy, Brazil’s vehicle production is set to grow at an annual compound growth rate (CAGR) of 6.8% between 2013 and 2019, making it the 7th largest global vehicle market.
Paulo Farina, Vice President & GM, South America, The Woodbridge Group states, “We are excited about the continued growth in Brazil. We currently provide a healthy volume of automotive seat cushioning products to several OEMs and Tier One customers. We are also looking forward to the opportunities that lie ahead in the near future, as 2 OEMs have announced plans to build new assembly plants in the region. ”
This state of the art facility will be the 6th Woodbridge facility in Brazil, offering industry-leading moulded polyurethane technologies, producing high-performance automotive seat cushions, and interior parts such as head restraints and armrests.
