Mississauga, ON, Canada, October 5, 2015 – The Woodbridge Group is pleased to announce the Grand Opening of its latest automotive moulded seating foam plant located in Capivari, Brazil. This 7,000 square meters, industry-leading facility is capable of producing over half a million car sets per year and is situated in close proximity to many Tier One and Original Equipment customers, who continue to build new plants in the region.
Despite a difficult 2015 in Brazil, vehicle production is expected to normalize and grow. IHS forecasts a robust recovery in 2017, followed by an annual growth of 3-5% through the forecast horizon. Investment in the region continues, as Brazil is the seventh largest global vehicle market, has a low motorization rate and expectations of an improved local economic climate.

Initially, the Capivari plant will strictly support customer seating foam requirements, but plans are already being made to expand the facility’s capabilities to produce interior parts such as head restraints and armrests.
